Maria Sibylla Merian: Pomegranate and Blue Morpho Butterfly Notecard

This notecard features Maria Sibylla Merian’s illustrations of a Pomegranate, a Blue Morpho Butterfly, and a Larva from the Getty Research Institute collection. Maria was a German artist who focused on natural history illustration and Entomology, the study of insects. She was one of the earliest European naturalists to document her observations.
